What is the Best Workout For Football Players?

070908_JDW_southcarolina_063 by Josh D. Weiss

So what is the best workout for football players? Well, that is a loaded question, but I am going to definitely tell you about a "must have" ingredient for you to include into your football strength training program!

It is no secret that exercises for football have to be explosive and dynamic in nature. In my experience I must say that to get the edge on your competition you have got to include kettlebells into your football workout program. As you may know kettlebells are an ancient strength and conditioning device that are tremendous for helping you to develop core strength, power, and conditioning that is second to nothing. The beauty of training with kettlebells is that you can mimic both explosive related Olympic lifts with the bell, as well as, more endurance type lifts for superior conditioning.

The base lift of the kettlebell, known as the double arm swing, can be implemented right into your football strength training workout and can be done anywhere at anytime! The cool thing about a good solid kettlebell workout is that it can be easily injected into your current program. This tool is great as both a primary training device, as well as, a killer supplemental means of training. The types of movements that are executed with kettlebell workouts involve your entire body and do not "isolate" a particular movement. Instead of isolation the kettlebell better trains your body to handle a good resistance through movement based exercises. This is why it is so pertinent to the game of football.

Take the time to endure the learning curve on kettlebell training and get them included into your own workouts. I guarantee you your competition isn't, and I am telling you as a professional it will make your life much easier when you find that you are hitting your competition in the mouth a lot harder than they are to you! Train hard, but train smart my friend.

Football Strength and Conditioning - The Best Football Strength and Conditioning Workouts Today!

IMG_0194 by Steph Anderson

I am pleased to tell you that if you implement the following type of strength and conditioning workout for your personal program that your football game will significantly improve. Many programs implement sound training strategies in order to develop explosiveness, speed, and power, but they do lack a great deal of conditioning that should come with it.

This is why I am pleased to introduce to you the ancient kettlebell! That's right, I said kettlebell. This ancient strength and conditioning device is one that today's modern athlete cannot afford to ignore. The difference in training with the kettlebell versus any other traditional means (like dumbbells and barbells) is that you implement a ton of dynamic movement along with moving the weighted ball. This not only helps you with strength, but it takes your conditioning to places you have never experienced.

The fact is that you can implement what I like to refer to as "hybrid" type lifts that mimic explosive type lifts and lifts for brute strength. Kettlebell training allows you to develop superior core power and overall resiliency making your body tougher and better able to withstand the vigorous football season. Your football strength and conditioning workouts have to be designed to get your body prepared for the season and kettlebell training fits that mold better than anything!
Take the time to learn what football strength and conditioning exercises you can implement with kettlebell training. Go ahead and take your pick because they are all beneficial. To make it easy for you can access the rest of my articles for free. Remember to train hard, but train hard my friend!
